EMERGENCY PET CARE INSTRUCTION

Are you prepared for a pet emergency? Now you can be. For the first time in Lake County, you can become Red Cross certified in pet CPR and first aid, by joining a class provided exclusively by Henry and Sylvia Ruhwiedel, owners of Westwind kennels in Crown Point. The class covers dog and cat CPR and first aid for many common pet injuries including burns, broken limbs, poisoning, and other hazards. Henry and Sylvia are the only Red Cross certified instructors in the area.   The class is only four hours long. Class is limited to eight persons, but additional classes will be provided later. The $30 fee includes all materials and instruction. Upon successfully passing the class you will receive a Red Cross pet CPR/First aid certification card. To sign up for the class call 219-663-0843 between 8:30 AM and 7 PM weekdays or between 9:00 AM and noon on Saturday.
